FROM STREET FOOTBALL
TO STRUCTURED EXCELLENCE
Mushin, a local government area in the heart of Lagos with over one million residents, has always been synonymous with football. On any given evening, you'll find dozens of informal matches happening across the community.
But for years, this incredible passion lacked structure. Talented young players had no clear development pathway. Coaches were working on instinct alone, without access to formal training or modern coaching methodologies.
The Mushin Football Coaches Council was born to change that. In 2016, a small group of dedicated coaches came together with a shared vision: to professionalize grassroots coaching and create a system where talent could be nurtured to its full potential.
Today, we operate a full coaching education program aligned with CAF licensing standards, run a youth academy serving hundreds of young players, and partner with clubs and schools across Lagos.
WHAT WE DO
To develop certified, competent, and passionate football coaches who deliver quality training at every level. We provide structured education, practical mentorship, and continuous professional development aligned with CAF and FIFA coaching frameworks.

To become the leading grassroots coaching development organization in Lagos State — a model for how community-driven football education can transform lives, raise playing standards, and produce coaches and players who compete at the highest levels.
KEY MILESTONES
THE BEGINNING
5 coaches begin informal training sessions at the Mushin Community Football Ground.
FIRST CERTIFICATION
Graduated first cohort of 20 coaches aligned with CAF D License standards.
COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS
Established partnerships with 8 local clubs and 3 secondary schools.
YOUTH ACADEMY LAUNCH
Opened the Mushin Youth Football Academy, training 200+ young players.
WOMEN'S INITIATIVE
Launched dedicated women's football program including girls' academy.
